The project was kicked off at an online meeting of all partners on 8th September 2022. Partners were introduced and the team agreed the project work packages, the project deliverables and the project schedule.
The team had its first ‘in person’ meetings on 17 th October, ahead of the International Ocean Energy Conference (ICOE 22) in San Sebastian, Spain. This included meetings on Work Package 2, progressing the design of the device.
On 19 th October, Prof Tony Lewis officially launched WEDUSEA at a presentation at ICOE 22.
To coincide with the launch at ICOE 22, a media campaign was launched to announce the new project and has achieved worldwide coverage.
At the start of December 2022, the WEDUSEA website was launched.
