The WEDUSEA consortium continued to implement a comprehensive programme of communication, dissemination and stakeholder engagement activities to promote project progress and strengthen engagement across the marine renewable energy sector.
Website and Digital Communications
The consortium upgraded and maintained the WEDUSEA project website, including the publication of video content, webinar information pages and updated information relating to the OE30 project. These activities ensured stakeholders had access to current project developments and technical information.
Webinar Activities
Webinars remained a key dissemination channel during the reporting period. The consortium delivered the following webinar:
- Marine Spatial Planning & Licensing – December 2025
The webinar provided stakeholders with insights into regulatory and licensing considerations relevant to marine renewable energy deployment.
Industry Events and Conferences
WEDUSEA partners actively promoted the project and disseminated results through participation in major industry conferences and events, including:
- All-Energy 2025, SEC Glasgow, UK (14–15 May 2025)
- OCEANS 2025, Brest, France (16–19 June 2025)
- EWTEC 2025, Madeira, Portugal (7–11 September 2025)
- Ocean Energy Europe (OEE) 2025, Brussels, Belgium (4–5 November 2025)
- Marine Energy Conference 2026, Newcastle, UK (10 March 2026)
- Oceanology International 2026, London, UK (10–12 March 2026)
- Environmental Interactions of Marine Renewables (EIMR) 2026, Oban, UK (13–17 April 2026)
- All-Energy 2026, Glasgow, UK (11–12 May 2026)
These events provided valuable opportunities to showcase project progress, engage with industry stakeholders and strengthen collaboration across the marine energy sector.
Marine Ambassador Programme
A Marine Ambassador Programme was launched to engage influential stakeholders and expand the reach of WEDUSEA dissemination activities across the marine renewable energy community.
Exploitation and Commercialisation Activities
Project partners engaged with the EU Booster Programme to strengthen exploitation planning, reporting, commercialisation strategies and dissemination activities, supporting the future uptake and impact of project outcomes.
Technical Workshop
A dedicated Turbine Control Workshop was held in Paris 29th April, bringing together partners from AST, Fraunhofer IEE, University College Cork (UCC) and OceanEnergy (OE).
The workshop focused on advancing turbine control strategies within WEDUSEA and covered the full development pathway from testing and data collection through to active turbine control and future optimisation. Discussions addressed the use of real-world operational data to improve turbine performance, validate numerical models and support the development of advanced control strategies. Partners also reviewed phased testing and implementation approaches and the continued development of core control methodologies.
Blog Publications
To increase awareness of project partners and activities, the consortium published a series of partner and infrastructure spotlight articles:
- 11 March 2026 – Spotlight on EMEC, a key WEDUSEA partner
- 16 March 2026 – Spotlight on Green Marine, WEDUSEA’s offshore installation partner
